Dr. Natascha Zeitel-Bank studied sociology at the university Mannheim with focus on European comparative social research and finished her doctoral thesis in Political Science at the university of Erlangen-Nürnberg in Germany (European Regional Policy and the impact of economic and political interests).
She lived several years in Brussels, Belgium, starting as trainee (´stagaire´) at the Economic and Social Committee (PR division) and European Commission (spokesman service), followed by a research stay financed by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) at the Directorate General of Regional Policy. She got a three year contract as editorial journalist under the authority of the European Commission President in the EC press section (directorate of communication) (1997-2000).
Since 2003 she has been teaching in the field of European Integration, Political Communication at the Department of Political Science (University of Innsbruck) and at universites of Applied Sciences in Austria and Germany.
Since 2019 she is Senior Lecturer at the Department of Media, Society and Communication at the Faculty of Social and Political Science and teaches also in the interdisciplinary program of the University of Innsbruck in the field of European Integration and International Organizations.
Beside her academic career Dr. Zeitel-Bank has been working for more than ten years as journalist in the field of European politics (ZDF, Deutsche Welle, Bavarian television) in Mainz, Munich, Berlin and Brussels. In this field she is still active. For the Tyrolean Tourist Board, GST she was responsible for Marketing/ PR campaigns in France and Italy (2003-2007).
During her studies and professional experiences she completed research and study stays at the Graduate School of Business in Cape Town/South Africa, the University of Indiana, Institute for Development Strategies, Indiana/USA and University of New South Wales, Sydney/ Australia.

Dr. Natascha Zeitel-Bank studierte Diplomsoziologie an der Universität Mannheim mit Fokus auf europäisch vergleichende Sozialforschung und absolvierte anschließend ein Doktoratsstudium in Politikwissenschaft an der Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg mit dem Schwerpunkt Europäische Integration (Europäische Regionalpolitik im Spannungsfeld zwischen ökonomischer und politischer Zielsetzung).
Sie lebte mehrere Jahre in Brüssel/Belgien, wo sie zunächst als ´Stagaire´ in der Presseabteilung des Wirtschafts- und Sozialausschusses sowie im ´Sprecherdienst´ arbeitete, bevor sie in der dem Kommissionspräsidenten unterstellten Presseabteilung für drei Jahre als Redakteurin tätig war.
Dr. Zeitel-Bank unterrichtet(e) seit 2003 am Institut für Politikwissenschaft an der Universität Innsbruck sowie an Fachhochschulen in Österreich und Deutschland mit den Schwerpunkten auf Europäische Integration, Politische Kommunikation und Medien.
Seit 2019 ist sie Senior Lecturer am Institut für Medien, Kommunikation und Gesellschaft an der Fakultät für Soziale und Politische Wissenschaften der Universität Innsbruck und unterrichtet zudem im interdisziplinären Programm im Bereich International Organisations / European Integration.
Neben ihrer akademischen Tätigkeit arbeitete Dr. Zeitel-Bank als Journalistin für das ZDF, die Deutsche Welle und den Bayerischen Rundfunk, überwiegend im Bereich Europaberichterstattung. Hier ist sie noch immer aktiv. Zudem war sie fünf Jahre Projektverantwortliche (Marketing / PR) für die Tourismusmärkte Frankreich und Italien bei der Landestourismusorganisation Tirolwerbung / Gästeservice Tirol (2003-2007).
Forschungs- und Studienaufenthalte führten sie an die Graduate School of Business (GSB) in Kapstadt/Südafrika, an die Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana/USA sowie an die University of New South Wales, Sydney/Australien.
