Camilla Mariotto is Associate Professor (PostDoc) at the Institute for Political Science since December 2017.
She studied international and European Politics at the Università degli Studi di Trento (School of International Studies). She got her PhD at the Università degli Studi di Milano on a thesis entitled „Bicameralism of the European Union: Decision-making in the Conciliation Committee”. Since March 2015 she has been PostDoctoral Research Fellow at the Hertie School of Governance (Berlin) and then at the Università degli Studi di Milano, where she was involved in a research on „Fiscal Policy in the multilevel governance of the European Union: ideas, negotiations and implementation“. In the period 2012-2017 she was also Teaching Assistant in Political Science and Governance of the European Union at the Università degli Studi di Milano. Her main works are in high-ranked journals, such as the European Union Politics and the Journal of European Integration.
Her primary research interests concern the politics and policy of the European Union, in particular legislative politics (the inter- and intra-institutional relations between the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union) and executive politics (implementation of the EU legislation and member states’ compliance), quantitative methods and formal models. Recently she got interested in EU fiscal policies.
